I was bored in between classes today browsing through old photos on my facebook, and I realized 2 1/2 years ago when I first opened a facebook account I was not this obsessive. It used to be just a hobby you do when you're bored, but now it's become my, our lives. I say 'our' because I can tell I'm not the only one who revolves their life around facebook. We change our statuses accordingly to each petty event of every day...we take pictures JUST to put them on facebook...we sit there waiting for notifications, messages, or instant messages to pop up. Facebook is a relationship builder and breaker. Every little thing someone writes or posts on facebook, we take personally; we can feel hurt or powerful based on what someone else expresses on facebook. We seek revenge thru facebook and say things we would never say to someone's face. We're friends with people we don't even speak to in person. We use facebook for too many justifications. I'm not blaming facebook for anything, it's just how we have decided to use facebook is the problem, which is honestly a stressor in my life that I do not need and why I continuously go back and forth from deactivating it to logging on every 5 minutes since I have internet on my phone. Also, if I didn't have internet on my phone, I wouldn't be on it nearly as much. So whenever I try and stay away from facebook for a while, I cannot do it for more than a day since it's so conveniently on my phone and lately I have had nothing better to do in between my classes since I haven't had a car. My solution is to take facebook less seriously, deactivate it, and/or become more busy. Unfortunately, facebook is the only way my best friend can keep in touch for free since she isn't from the US...but she has my e-mail address...I guess I am looking for reasons to get on facebook in case I "miss something." So when and how did Facebook become just another thing to do to an obsession with our lives revolving around it?
Personally, I need a break, and I've needed a break for awhile ever since I started judging relationships from interactions on facebook. It's just extremely hard to let go of something you've been with for so long...it's like I have a relationship with Facebook, but it's just not working out, and hopefully I can finally stick with a clean break. If my bff really needs me, she knows she can call me.
deviantART has been a good distraction from facebook. Today and last night was really the first day I thoroughly browsed others art, and it really opened up my soul, mind, and creativity. deviant Artists are extremely talented, and it is so inspirational. I feel more free and myself on this site as well since I have so much in common with artists just by being another artist, and I can express my mind and feelings with others who are actually mature and creative enough to understand. And you all have made me realize I need to step my creativeness up! Being creative among facebook and being creative among deviantART are two totally different things lol Soon I will search through all my photos from last semester's travels and post the magnificent pictures. and Hopefully I'll have a photo shoot scheduled next weekend, and I'm excited, imagining how creative I can get

Tomorrow's Gemini Horoscope: Cicely,
Your creativity is just exploding today. If you are an artist, writer or musician, you could have an amazing opportunity to show your talents to a wider audience. You are a little intimidated by an authority figure of some kind, don't let that get in your way! <3
This is Steve, from London. How's it going? I really like your stuff. It's awesome! Anyhow, I hope you're doing well.
